The Process

Pictures may be sent to Black Cat Studios in three ways:

E-mail your picture file to us at orders@

blackcatstudios.net.

MANIPULATE   After we receive your photo, floppy disk or e-mail file, we alter the photo as requested (crop or eliminate background).

IMPORT  Once the image has been cleaned up, we import the picture into our software program.

MODIFY  After the image is imported, we then modify the size and range of colors.  At that point, we decide how many floss colors to use (more colors result in a more realistic cross stitch design).

LAYOUT  After the symbol chart is created from the original photo and criteria for color and number of floss colors is chosen, decorative effects such as text, backstitch or beading is added to the final design.

PROOF  The layout is then proofed for errors in color, layout and spelling.

PRINT  The final symbol chart, color copy of completed design and direction sheet are printed.

SHIP  After notification has been made to the customer, the kit is then packaged and sent via Priority Mail, unless otherwise specified.

Please remember that when submitting a photo, the image should be as CLEAR and SHARP as possible.  However, with our graphics software, photos may be retouched, converted to black and white, sepia, or other tones, sharpened and repaired.  Unwanted elements in the original photo (such as power lines on a house or certain backgrounds) can be removed at your request.  If there are any changes that you would like made to your photo before a cross stitch kit is designed, please specify.  (This may result in an added charge.)
